A Parent's Guide to the Portal PIN (and What to Do When It's Lost)
The parent portal login is an ID and PIN from the access slip — no passwords to reset, no SMS codes. Here's how it works and how the school office reissues a forgotten PIN in seconds.
The parent portal exists to answer the three questions every parent asks — what’s my child’s fee balance, how is my child performing, and what’s happening this term — without a queue at the school office. And the login was designed to be as simple as the questions: an ID and a 4-digit PIN from the access slip. No email to verify, no password reset links, no app to install.
How signing in works
When your child is enrolled, the school gives you an access slip with your portal ID and an initial PIN. Open the portal sign-in page, type both, and you’re in — the portal shows your child’s report cards, fee balance, and updates in a simple read-only view.
The first time you sign in, the portal asks you to choose your own 4-digit PIN. Pick something you’ll remember — it replaces the one from the slip from then on.
Forgot your PIN? It’s a 30-second fix
There’s deliberately no SMS or email reset channel — no codes to wait for, no “check your spam” loops. Because the portal is simple, losing the PIN is simple too: ask the school office. Staff can reissue a PIN instantly from the dashboard, and you’re back in.
If you’re not sure the school has your details right, the sign-in page’s “Forgot your PIN?” option checks whether a portal account exists for your admission number or phone number — so the office can confirm the identifier before reissuing. The page also points you to contact the school office directly.
What the office does (for staff reading this)
Reissuing a PIN takes seconds:
- Open the student record — Students → the student, or Parents → the parent.
- Find the Portal section showing the parent’s access details.
- Reissue or reset the PIN. The new PIN appears on the next access slip — or read it to the parent over the phone and have them change it at first sign-in.
Why it’s designed this way
Every extra step in a login is a parent who never gets in — and the parents who struggle most with accounts are often the ones who most need to see their child’s balance. A short identifier, a 4-digit PIN, and a human at the school office who can fix it in seconds: that’s a portal parents actually use. And a portal parents use is a school office that fields fewer “what’s the balance?” calls every term.
Lost the slip? Ask the office for a reissue — you’ll be back in before the kettle boils.
